Entry forms for NZIRA competitions in 2007 will be available for download from this page approximately two months before each competition's due date. In New Zealand there are no heats as such. You will race once only in each event you enter. Like races with like: meaning that you will row in the same race as others of similar ability - regardless of age, weight, size or gender. The computer will sort out those details and the medals will be awarded to the fastest in each competition class regardless of what race they actually rowed in. This system makes for much closer racing and more personal bests. It also means that it is very important to fill out the estimated times part of the entry form accurately and honestly, so that you are seeded to the race where you are most likely to perform at your optimum and so the competition will prove the most rewarding.
